ASN stands for “Advance Shipping Notice,” and is a notification of pending deliveries, usually sent electronically. It lists the contents of a shipment, and often provides additional information such as product descriptions and packaging types. An ASN can help the recipient (in this case, Simple Global) more efficiently receive and process the shipment.
Video: How to Submit an ASN using ONE
When you send inventory to our warehouse, you must submit an ASN through the ONE portal. Here’s how:
Log into ONE and click the “Products” tab.
On the left-hand menu bar, click ASNs and then click “Draft”
Under “ASN: Draft,” click the “Create ASN” button
Fill out the “Shipping details” section
Choose “Expected arrival” date. This is the date you expect your shipment to arrive at the warehouse.
Select the Carrier you’ll be using to send us the shipment
Enter the shipment’s tracking number
Select which Simple Global warehouse you’re sending the shipment to
Scroll down until you see the row that shows Containers, Pallets, Cartons, and SKUs. This is where you will tell us about the inventory you’re sending to us. Note that the “Containers” and “Pallets” columns are currently not active; please ignore them for now.
Start by clicking the “Add New” button in the “Cartons” column. A carton will be created. Enter the quantity of cartons in your shipment that contain identical SKUs. For example, if you are sending 5 cartons of SKU# SWG-1001 (black watch), enter quantity 5.
With the correct carton selected (outlined and tinted in blue), click the “Add New” button in the SKUs column. In the drop-down menu, select the SKU that is contained in the carton. Then enter the quantity of that SKU contained in each carton. Note: if a carton contains multiple SKUs, you can add the additional SKUs by clicking the “Add New” button again with the current carton selected.
If you are sending us other cartons containing different SKUs, repeat steps 5a and 5b for each unique set of cartons.
Scroll down further and enter any “Additional Information”
Type any special instructions you might have in the “Special instruction” field
Upload the packing slip for this shipment
Upload the commercial invoice, if needed
Review the Summary. This section shows you the SKUs included in your shipment, and the total quantity of each SKU
Click the blue “Submit” button to send us your ASN. If you don’t want to submit it right away, you can save it as a draft or delete it.
Print the ASN labels and apply one to each carton in your shipment.
Go to the “Products” tab
From the left menu bar, with the “ASN” section expanded, click “Submitted”
Find the ASN you recently created. Click on the ASN number to bring up the detail
- In one of the “Cartons” boxes, click “Download Master PDF - View All Info”. This will download a PDF file containing the labels to your computer
Find the file in your downloads folder (or wherever it downloaded on your computer). The file’s name will contain the ASN number (for example, ASN10021744_All.pdf) Click the file to open it.
The file contains a label for each carton in your shipment. Print the labels and affix one to each carton. If you are sending multiple SKUs in the same shipment, make sure you match the SKU on the label to the SKUs contained in each carton.
