ePacket is an airmail service offered to commercial shippers who send packages internationally from the United States. It is designed to be a cost-effective way to ship large numbers of relatively small, lightweight packages to a variety of destinations worldwide. USPS offers this service through partner companies known as Postal Qualified Wholesalers (PQWs).
Simple Global has partnered with multiple PQW's (Globegistics, Asendia, and DHL eCom) to make low-cost, efficient shipping available to our clients and their customers. These PQW's have multiple facilities across the states including central locations such as New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Miami. Packages picked up from a Simple Global warehouse will be processed at the most convenient of these facilities, and then tendered to USPS for transport to the destination country. After transport, the package is handed over to that country’s postal service for final delivery.
The main feature that separates ePacket from other airmail products, such as IPA (International Priority Airmail) is that it includes tracking from the point of origin through final delivery. Each package is labeled with a unique, barcoded tracking number with a prefix of LX, and can be tracked on the carrier websites. In addition, ePacket shipments feature free returns for undeliverables. It is also important to note that ePacket delivery provides customers end-to-end tracking at no additional cost, allowing them to easily monitor and locate their package on official websites such as EMS and USPS.
How long does it take to deliver a ePacket?
Generally, ePacket transit time is 5-12 business days, although, as with other airmail products, it can be significantly longer. A package might be held for customs inspection, for example, or delayed due to weather conditions. It is recommended that customers allow 30 days for delivery before reporting a package as lost.
ePacket Dimension and Weight Information
The maximum length of the package can only be 24” (60cm) and the total length, height and thickness of the package cannot be more than 36” (90cm). Packages shipped via ePacket are limited to a shipping weight of 2 kilograms (4.4 pounds), The declared value must be $400.00 or less.
